NH Natural Heritage Bureau ecologists are now finishing up this season's field work. The field season can begin as early as April, when a few species of ephemeral spring wildflowers bloom, and can last as late as the first hard frost in October, which generally causes herbaceous species to die back for the year. Once field work is completed, our staff will return to the office full time and focus on data analysis, data management, and project report preparation.
