Remote Magalloway Mountain Fire Tower Watchman’s Cabin Rental Information

You can now make reservations to sleep overnight in the Watchman’s Cabin on the summit of Magalloway Mountain in Pittsburg.  This rustic location offers a historic glimpse into the life of a fire tower watchman.

The 2 room cabin has 1 bunk bed and 1 double bed with mattress.  A woodstove provides heat for the cabin and firewood is provided. A rustic outhouse is located behind the cabin.  The cabin has an attached screened porch.  A propane cook stove is provided, however, you will need to bring your own 1 pound propane bottles.  There are basic cooking utensils and pots & pans available for use.

There is a spring on the mountain but it does not always have water - you will need to pack in drinking water.  A rain barrel collects water for uses other than drinking.

The hiking trail is approximately 1 mile from the parking area and rises in elevation about 700 feet. Hiking time is approximately 40 minutes one way.
